Jia: A Novel of North Korea is written by Hyejin Kim, a South Korean who has worked extensively with North Korean refugees living in China.  After learning true stories about their struggles a story, based on interviews, fieldwork and research, was born. Kim reveals a glimpse of a closed-off country, and describes what life is like for North Korean refugees in China.  In conversation with RTHK’s Hugh Chiverton. Ms. Kim appears with the assistance of the National Arts Council, Singapore.
