The Helena May Library has the well-deserved reputation as being one of the finest English-language libraries in Hong Kong. It has the period atmosphere of a genuine old-fashioned library but with the addition of modern library software. It has a comfortable reading corner overlooking the garden. The collection contains over 25,000 volumes of fiction and non-fiction. It has been developed over the past 60 years. The collection is in the process of being computerised and the catalogue will soon be available online. About 50 new books are added each month. There is also a children’s library. View the New Books List updated monthly. The Library holds special events, such as literary festival related activities and "Author in the Library" evenings. Library hours Monday-Friday: 10 am - 6 pm Saturday: 10 am - 4 pm (Closed from 12:30 pm - 1 pm) First Thursday of each month: 11:30 am - 6 pm Returns and Renewals All books may be borrowed for two weeks. Certain books may be renewed for an additional two weeks. If the library is closed when you wish to return books they may be deposited in the Book Box outside the library. Good reads?
